Dear Parents and Carers,
We are writing to inform you of the hot weather conditions forecast for Monday and Tuesday of next week. To ensure the comfort and wellbeing of all our students during these warmer days, we are implementing the following arrangements:
Uniform Policy Adjustment
Students are permitted to wear their PE shirt on Monday and Tuesday instead of their regular shirt, tie, and blazer. Shoes and trousers/skirt must still be worn. This will help keep them cool and comfortable throughout the school day.
Hydration Requirements
Please ensure your child brings a water bottle to school each day. We encourage all students to:
• Bring a filled water bottle from home
• Refill their bottles during break times and between lessons
• Stay well-hydrated throughout the day
Water fountains will be available around the school, and students are actively encouraged to use these facilities regularly.
Increased Break Time
Traditionally break time is 15 minutes however we will extend this to 25 to ensure all students have opportunities to rehydrate and fill up water bottles. Lunch time is 50 minutes long so gives enough time for students to prepare for the afternoon.
Sun protection
During outdoor activities such as PE lessons, enrichment activities or lunch, we encourage students to wear sun hats and sunscreen which should be applied prior to the start of the school day.
Classroom Comfort
Please be assured that all classrooms are equipped with fans or air conditioning to maintain a comfortable learning environment during the warmer weather.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep all students safe and comfortable during these hot weather conditions. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your support.
