House System

Find out more about our House System at Haven High Academy.

Franklin House - Democracy

Franklin House is named after Rosalind Franklin who was an English chemist and X-ray crystallographer who was central in understanding the double helix structures of DNA.

It was only until after Elizabeth had died where she was recognised for her work as there was a lack of democracy in her workplace. Our academy has a democratic culture which is built upon freedom and equality, where everyone is aware of their rights and responsibilities.

Fry House is named after Elizabeth Fry who was a humanitarian who fought to improve living conditions in prisons at a time when people were so poor they sadly died.

Peel House is named after Sir Robert Peel who was a British Conservative statesman who served twice as Prime Minister and twice as Home Secretary. He addressed the lack of organisation in the law enforcement and founded the Metropolitan Police Service.

Laws or rules are in place to protect our general safety around the world and ensure our rights of citizen are being followed correctly. We have rules in our Academy to help provide for our safety.
